Hello, my name is Aaron, and I live in the fast lane.
Aaron Matthew Cartwright. He's an eventer in his late twenties. He works hard and plays hard, and he's not going to let anyone stop him from his eventing dreams.
Long ago, Aaron had big plans for the future. He wanted to go through medical school to become a doctor so that horseback-riding could be an enjoyable hobby instead of a way of life. When his parents died unexpectedly halfway through his first year at college, they left him nothing in their will, and he had to drop out. He eventually found a job at Iron Horse, where he discovered that his passion for eventing.
Aaron is a workaholic when it comes to his job as barn staff. He's the first one at the barn in the morning and the last one to leave at night. He knows the value of hard work, and he's hoping that one day it will pay off when he can finally fund his eventing campaign. The job is also the only way he can afford his shabby apartment and very few utilities. Aaron hopes to someday win the Rolex so he can have the good life that he wanted.
Be Sorta Bad, aka Rooster, is the chestnut off-the-track Thoroughbred gelding that Aaron purchased for a mere $450 from the horse slaughterer and rehabilitated himself. Rooster is every bit as dedicated as Aaron to their goals. His bravery and willingness has gotten the pair through many a bad distance.
Apart from being a workaholic, Aaron is a closet alcoholic. Some days, he may go home and have three or four cans of beer, and, when he can afford it, a shot or two of vodka. He never drinks at the barn and doesn't let it affect his riding, but one would do well to avoid him if he ever starts to slur his speech.
Overall, Aaron is intense and passionate when it comes to his riding and his relationships. He's typically friendly and nice, so he has many acquaintances as well as friends. He doesn't do the whole "hook-up" thing, and while he may have a ridiculously high number of girlfriends (only one at a time, though) he truly believes that he loves or used to love each one of them. Enemies are rare for him; however, he has many rivalries in the equestrian world.
