It was old rock, the types most dads would dance to with an air guitar in hand. Sipping an espresso, Sebastian sang along to AC/DC drumming his fingers on the steering wheel as he turned down the long drive to the yard. The impala was slowed down, trundling easily over the white pebbled lane that was towered over by the trees on either side. Peering through the gaps in the trees, he saw varieties of equines either grazing in the rain or sheltering from it. Pulling into the parking lot, he quickly changed into his riding boots. Pristine long leather that glimmered like the hide of his stallion. They should have specialised in dressage. The pair could pull off a fantastic test and their cross country was to say the least, impressive. However, the large stallion cared little for show jumping, he tried...but the fire went out in him. Sebastian leant against the seat for a moment, leaning over to pull over his water proof ariat jacket. Pulling it on, he pulled the hood voer his head before picking up his coffee and making a run to the stables. Once in, he pulled his hood down, ruffling his hair so it stuck out at awkward, yet attractive angles. Making his way down the aisle, he stroked several noses on his way before finding his own box. Blue stood at the back of the stall, his head low, ears floppy. Sebastian smiled at the mountainous beast, quietly slipping the bolt back to let himself in. Suddenly, Blue's head shot up, his ears melting into his poll and teeth flashing before he finally realized it was his owner. Softening, the stallion walked over to Sebastian, snuffling his pockets. Half smiling, Seb stroked the stud's face before slipping a halter over his skull, tying him loosely to the ring. After a vigorous grooming, Sebastian gathered the tack he required for a bit of dressage. All the equipment gleamed, much like the stallion that wore it. Four white bandages were wound around the toned canon bones, the same repeated on the hind legs before a white saddle pad then followed by a made to measure dressage saddle and short girth. Sebastian removed the head collar, offering the two bitted bridle to the equine who obediently opened his mouth. Once all the straps were tucked in, buckles tightened and fore lock straightened, Seb put on his helemt, pulling his jacket a little closer as a cool wind swept down the yard. Taking a light grip on the snaffle rein, Sebastian lead the beast down to the indoor arena, knocking on the doors briefly before entering. Nobody home. Leading the stallion in, he quickly shut out the harsh weather, leading the stud to the center of the lighted arena to tighten the girth and lengthen the stirrups before athletically swinging himself onto the 17.3 hands high stud. Moving straight off the leg, the stallion accepted the contact and began to work lightly in the walk, his ears perked as Sebastian asked for a trot, suppling the bulging muscles of the equine. He was a mixed breed, quite a mutt really. Hanoverian, Oldenburg, Trakehner and part Thoroughbred made the stallion not only incredibly powerful, but also incredibly tempramental. Once worked in, Sebastian asked for a series of one time changes down the long diagonal, landing on the correct leg before settling into a collected three timed beat, executing a perfect canter pirhouette and extending down the long side. Sebastian sat perfectly quiet and still on the stud, asking in the lightest way and absorbing the movement of the stallion. Blue was in top form, and he sure felt it, but Seb was just pleased they could work alone. notes // hope this is okay <3 |
